Purvottanasana (Tabletop):
Benefits:
This posture releases the back and opens the front torso, while stretching and toning the muscles in the fronts of shoulders and biceps.
Alignment:
Legs should be straight out in front of you, with hands about a foot behind you, fingertips facing forward. Hands should be shoulder-width apart. Pressing down through your arms and hands, lift your hips up, press your toes into the floor and contract your thighs. Gaze (drishti) should be softly toward the wall behind you. |
